How is Industrial Water Classified According to Its Function?
Date:2025-04-28 Browse: 6

When it comes to the classification of industrial water, it can mainly be classified based on three aspects: function, process and water source. In the previous chapter, what I said was about the classification of industrial process water. This chapter will continue to study the classification issues of industrial use – the classification of the functions of industrial water. The specific classification is as follows:

1.Production water, which is directly used for industrial production, mainly includes cooling water, process water, etc.

2.Indirect cooling water: In the industrial production process, it is necessary to ensure that the equipment can operate at normal temperatures. At this time, cooling water is used. The cooling water and the medium to be cooled are separated by heat exchangers or equipment.

3.Process water, in industrial production processes, is used for water related to manufacturing and processing, including product water, washing water, direct cooling water, etc.

4.Boiler water, water used for steam production in boilers for process or heating and power generation, as well as water for boiler water treatment, including boiler feed water and water for boiler treatment, etc.

5.Domestic water refers to the water used for domestic purposes in the factory area and workshops or water for other uses.

Nowadays, the industrial water system is huge and there are many water usage links. For instance, in industrial and mining enterprises, they not only need to use a large amount of water, but also have many requirements for the water source and water quality supplied. Then, to know the quality of water, a water quality analyzer is needed. Through this instrument, water quality can be monitored in real time to understand the specific data of water quality.
