Are there any Tricks Regarding the Layout of Water Environment Points?
Date:2025-07-09 Browse: 4

It should be known that the layout of water supply environment points is also a link to ensure water quality safety. To ensure that the water quality test data can accurately reflect the water quality situation, the layout of test points is very crucial. So, what are the tricks for setting up water environment points? In this chapter, the manufacturer of online water quality detectors will explore this issue together with everyone.

Due to the different functions of water bodies, hydrological elements, pollution sources and other actual conditions, relevant layout points should be constructed. What’s the trick? It can be viewed from the following aspects:

1.Background section: It is a section used to evaluate the pollution level of water systems, which has not been affected by daily life and production activities, thereby providing background values of the water environment. At this time, it is usually set at the source of the water system or the upstream section of the river that has not been polluted. Remember to stay away from urban residents, industries and other areas that may be polluted.

2.Control section: This refers to the section located upstream of the pollution source in a specific area that can provide local values for this water system region to specifically assess the degree of water environmental pollution in a certain area. Usually, only one control section is set up in a river section to reflect the initial water quality of the river entering the area. This distribution point is set up upstream of cities, industrial sewage discharge areas, etc., to ensure that it is not affected by the polluted areas.

3.Control section: It is the section for understanding the degree of water environment pollution and its changes, that is, the section for receiving industrial and domestic sewage from a city or region. The control section can reflect the impact of pollution sources on the river section. At this time, it is more appropriate to set the point downstream of the sewage outlet, because the pollution and the river water can be mixed more thoroughly. Then, based on the distribution of pollution sources along the river section, multiple cross-sections will be set up.

4.Reduction section: It refers to the section where wastewater flows within a water body and, after a certain distance, reaches the maximum degree of mixing, with pollutants being diluted and degraded. This is the section where the concentration of pollutants will significantly decrease. To reflect the dilution and self-purification of pollutants by the river, the point should be set downstream of the control section, where the pollution concentration will significantly decrease due to the repeated mixing of river water and pollutants.

5.Management Section (more considered in the above four types) : It is a section set up for Wie’s specific environmental management needs.
