Water can be regarded as the lifeblood of industry. It is widely used in manufacturing processes, inevitably generating wastewater, which is a major cause of water pollution. Therefore, all discharged wastewater must comply with safety standards before being released into natural water bodies or sent to wastewater treatment plants.
Simply put, wastewater monitoring refers to the testing of wastewater produced during enterprise production and processing. Its main monitoring objects include tannery wastewater, metallurgical wastewater, refinery wastewater, textile wastewater and so on. In addition, water environment monitoring also covers pollutants in surface water such as rivers and seawater, domestic sewage, as well as contaminants infiltrated into groundwater.
The main monitoring items for wastewater are classified as follows:
1.Conventional indicators: pH value, colority, turbidity, acidity, water temperature, electrical conductivity, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, permanganate index, etc.
2.Heavy metal indicators:hexavalent chromium, iron, manganese, lead, copper, total mercury, cadmium, nickel, arsenic, zinc, molybdenum, cobalt, etc.
3.Special pollutant indicators:fluoride, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, sulfate, total cyanide, sulfide, petroleum substances, animal and vegetable oils, etc.
