Why Should Schools Attach Importance to Water Quality Monitoring?

Some may argue that drinking water supplied to schools has already been treated, so there should be no concerns and extra monitoring is unnecessary. This view is incorrect. Water quality can be affected by multiple factors, and problems may occur during water transportation or due to surrounding environmental conditions, hence sufficient attention must be paid.

Poor-quality drinking water caused students to develop symptoms such as fever and abdominal pain to varying degrees. This case highlights the necessity of prioritizing drinking-water quality in schools. It is recommended that drinking water in school cold-water storage tanks be replaced daily. Regular water quality monitoring and parameter record-keeping should also be carried out. Temperature fluctuations in water storage environments may raise risks of bacterial growth.
