System Overview
Total residual chlorine refers to the amount of residual chlorine remaining after chlorine-based oxidants are added to water and have been in contact for a period of time, excluding the amount consumed by microorganisms, organic and inorganic substances in the water. It includes free residual chlorine and combined residual chlorine. Free residual chlorine refers to chlorine existing in the form of hypochlorous acid (HClO) or dissolved elemental chlorine (Cl2). Combined residual chlorine refers to chlorine existing in the form of chloramines and organochloramines. The presence of residual chlorine in water environments is mainly introduced by artificial chlorination treatment. Chlorination treatment is a water treatment technology that uses the strong oxidizing effect of chlorine to non-selectively kill bacteria, algae and other microorganisms in water. With the extensive use of chlorine, the toxic and carcinogenic effects of its by-products have increasingly drawn attention, making it necessary to analyze and determine the chlorine content. At the same time, to achieve precise dosing and economically and effectively exert the disinfection and sterilization effect of chlorine, it is also necessary to monitor the residual chlorine content in water in real time.
The RCl900 total residual chlorine online analyzer is a fully automatic online monitor controlled by an embedded system. After the water sample and the anti-interference agent are automatically injected into the reactor, the characteristic color-developing agent is automatically added for the color-developing reaction, and the absorbance of the reactants is measured. The online analyzer can directly measure the total residual chlorine content in water through the absorbance value.
