Most aluminum in domestic water originates from alum applied during water treatment, whereas natural water typically contains minimal aluminum. Regulatory authorities stipulate that the aluminum concentration in drinking water must not exceed 0.2 mg/L. To determine aluminum levels, real-time analysis via an online aluminum analyzer is required to verify compliance with standards. This paper discusses key precautions for aluminum analysis in water using water quality analyzers, in collaboration with Modi–Tech.
When using online water quality monitoring equipment manufactured by Hangzhou-Modi, users should adhere to the following guidelines:
1.Water Quality Pretreatment:
Evaluate the water matrix (e.g., turbidity, coloration). Severe pollution may impair the accuracy of online monitoring. Thus, appropriate pretreatment of wastewater is necessary before instrumental analysis.
2.Environmental Conditions:
The equipment must be installed indoors (not outdoors) and maintained within a temperature range of 0–40°C. In winter, heating (e.g., air conditioning) is required to prevent subzero temperatures from affecting performance.
3.Reagent Management:
Store reagents strictly per the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid degradation. When purchasing reagents, avoid overstocking, as prolonged storage can cause deterioration. Reagent quantities should align with testing frequency; consult the manufacturer for guidance if uncertain.
These precautions apply to all online water quality monitors developed by Modi–Tech, not solely for aluminum analysis. The core objective of water-specific analysis is to ensure wastewater meets discharge standards before release.
