To do a good job in monitoring wastewater treatment as much as possible, urge relevant enterprises to strictly implement environmental protection requirements, and provide accurate and comprehensive data for environmental protection departments, so as to ensure the safety of water quality, this will involve an environmental protection acceptance. What issues should be noted in wastewater monitoring during the process of environmental protection acceptance? There are mainly three points. Let’s take a look!
Ensure the Proper Discharge of Waste Materials
The quantity of wastewater discharged is scientifically verified. In the actual working process, the volume of wastewater discharged by the enterprise is usually determined based on the reading of the wastewater flowmeter. However, there are several special circumstances that need attention:
1.During the process of wastewater monitoring (such as online monitoring of medical wastewater, industrial wastewater monitoring, domestic sewage monitoring, etc.), a few enterprises, in order to ensure that the concentration and total volume of wastewater meet the standards, take shortcuts by secretly discharging through concealed pipes or discharging from buildings. In addition, for some high-concentration wastewater, a certain dilution ratio should be made before pretreatment. Some enterprises, in order to achieve their goals and reduce the cost of wastewater treatment, increase the dilution ratio by themselves to lower the concentration of the raw water, or install concealed water pipes downstream of the last few treatment units of the wastewater treatment equipment or the wastewater flowmeter, thereby reducing the concentration of the wastewater. Reduce the discharge of wastewater.
When monitoring wastewater, in addition to doing a good job in monitoring the wastewater discharge flow, it is also necessary to carefully check the inflow volume of the wastewater treatment equipment. This way, by comparing it with the outflow volume, it will be clear at a glance, which is convenient for later inspection and understanding whether the wastewater treatment equipment can treat the wastewater on time and to a high standard.
2.There are design flaws in the wastewater pollution management equipment. The wastewater treated according to the normal process basically fails to meet the discharge standards. At this point, some enterprises will pre-treat the wastewater in a certain section during the monitoring process to ensure that the wastewater can be discharged up to standard during the online monitoring period. Even if the wastewater is monitored to be qualified, it cannot prove that the equipment is qualified. It cannot pass the acceptance inspection.
When encountering such situations, staff members must carefully inspect the site during the monitoring process, be familiar with the functions of the wastewater treatment process, and master the total treatment stage time of the wastewater equipment in the design and operation process to see if it meets the actual situation of wastewater discharge volume and discharge cycle.
Collect Some Representative Samples
To ensure that the collected samples have a certain representativeness on the basis of accurately verifying the total amount of wastewater discharge, it can mainly be divided into the following collection points:
1.The sampling points for pollutant collection are all set at the discharge outlets of the treatment equipment or dedicated treatment facilities.
2.All sampling points are set at the external discharge outlets of the sewage discharge points.
3.If centralized treatment is to be carried out, the sampling points for sewage should be determined in accordance with the requirements of the local environmental protection department.
4.When monitoring the treatment of wastewater, sampling points should be set up at each entrance and total discharge outlet of the sewage treatment facility.
5.When monitoring each sewage treatment unit, sampling points should be set up at each sewage inlet and the drainage buckle entering the treatment facility unit.
Some Points to Note for the Total Accounting of Wastewater
1.For some enterprises that have not installed flow meters, water usage invoices for the past few months can be provided.
2.Based on the water samples treated separately, the total amount of wastewater discharged by the enterprise is calculated by referring to its water consumption and the water balance chart in the environmental impact assessment document.
3.For enterprises where the monthly water consumption and drainage volume vary greatly, it is necessary to separately check the water consumption and wastewater discharge volume at the high, flat and low peak periods of water usage. On the basis of accurately monitoring the wastewater discharge concentration, the wastewater discharge volume should be calculated through scientific methods.
4.Install online flowmeters and wastewater identification signs (when the wastewater discharge meets the monitoring requirements);
Of course, during the acceptance process, it is necessary to master the types of sewage, process flows, discharge patterns and other conditions related to the sewage discharge from the pollution source. When the sewage is discharged at a certain temperature, it is only necessary to collect representative samples. If hair phenomenon occurs, record the abnormal water volume and the cycle of its occurrence under the condition of running.
