When it comes to the machinery manufacturing industry, wastewater generated during production requires tailored treatment processes for different projects. Common challenges in machinery manufacturing wastewater treatment include degradation, surface treatment, heat treatment, and heavy metal removal. Let’s take a brief look at relevant processes for machinery manufacturing wastewater treatment.

Wastewater flows out of the regulating tank and is pumped into the reaction tank. As wastewater contains abundant metal ions, sodium hydroxide is dosed into the reaction tank, followed by stirring. Metal ions react with hydroxide ions to form insoluble metal hydroxide precipitates. Effluent from the reaction tank then enters the flocculation tank, where a proper amount of PAM is added. Fine metal hydroxide particles bind with PAM molecules to form larger flocs for subsequent separation. The wastewater then flows into the sedimentation tank, after which it is pumped to a self-cleaning filter for further treatment.

Another type of filter is assembled with parallel filter elements. Each filter element consists of a set of grooved, reinforced plastic filter discs. During filtration, wastewater flows inward. Groove edges on adjacent discs trap solid contaminants. In backwashing mode, water flows outward from the inner side of the filter discs. Contaminants trapped on the discs are washed off and discharged through the drain outlet.

Physical and chemical methods are available for industrial manufacturing wastewater treatment. The suitable approach is determined based on actual site conditions.
