In China’s “Biological Drinking Water Hygiene Standard” GB5749-85, the bacterial standards for domestic drinking water stipulate the following three situations:

2.The qualified quantity of coliform bacteria, set with 1 L of water, the coliform bacteria in the water should not exceed 3;

3.If the water source for domestic drinking water can be provided through chlorine disinfectants, then the quantity of coliform bacteria, on average per liter, should not exceed 1000, but if it undergoes purification treatment and disinfection to be used as a drinking water source, the quantity of coliform bacteria on average per liter should not exceed 10,000.
